About me
I first attended a doula training in 2021 because I felt irresistibly called to it. The more I learned about birth, the more I felt sure that it’s where I’m meant to be; to support, uplift, and hold space while people went through the vulnerable, powerful, and beautiful transition into parenthood. I deeply respect our bodies’ abilities and intuition towards birth and believe that every parent deserves to have a birth that is empowering and trauma-free.
At the beginning of 2022, I started volunteering with the Volunteer Doula Program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, which provides people in labor the option to have a birth doula free of charge. While I love being a part of the births that I attend there, I also wanted the ability to build relationships with clients before their labors and provide a broader scope of doula care through prenatal and postpartum visits, which is why I created Mount Sutro Doula Services. I have supported families of many different backgrounds and prioritize equity, inclusivity, and anti-racism in my care.
Every doula has their own unique energy. My energy is calm, grounded, and compassionate. I provide nonjudgmental, affirming care. I am pro-choice (in every sense) and advocate for true informed consent based on scientific evidence and the latest childbirth research. Above all, I believe that your birth matters and how you feel about it matters. There is no singular “right way” to birth. My goal as your doula is to help you figure out what an ideal birth looks like for you – and then to help you achieve it through preparation and educational, emotional, hands-on support!
Outside of doula work, I love being outside (walking, hiking, or just sitting on a rock), cooking, making pottery, and spending time with my partner, friends, and my cat Luna.
