Step one: Consultation
The first step in any of my services is a 30 minute free phone or video consultation to see if we’re a good fit. You can use this time to ask any questions you have about me, my services, and the role of a doula. I will want to know what type of support you’re looking for.
Birth support
My birth support package comes with prenatal meetings, labor/birth support, and postpartum visits.
Cost: No out of pocket fee for Medi-Cal clients. For non-Medi-Cal clients, please contact me for rates.

Intake meeting
60-90 minute virtual intake meeting upon initiation of services where we talk about any initial questions you have, how your pregnancy has gone so far, your hopes and fears for your birth, any medical conditions that might affect your pregnancy and birth – the goal is to proactively identify anything that could affect your birth mindset and experience and make a plan for how to address or otherwise accommodate it, including nutrition, stress reduction, movement, and referrals to relevant resources.
Prenatal meetings
Knowledge is power! I offer 2-3 prenatal meetings (more available for Medi-Cal clients if desired), 60-90 minutes each and typically in the 3rd trimester, where we get to know each other more, build trust, and talk about a mix of the following topics to get you ready for your birth, as you prefer:
- Due date and early labor plan to help optimal fetal positioning
- Childbirth education including pelvic anatomy and the hormones of physiological birth
- Creation of a birth preferences sheet
- Common interventions used during childbirth
- Coping styles, including practicing and finding what you may prefer
- How you can advocate for yourself with your provider
- Creating a postpartum plan
- Anything else you want to cover
I will also be available by text and email (and phone call for urgent matters) to answer any questions that come up between our meetings.
Labor support
I will be on call for your labor from 37 weeks until you deliver. Once I join you, I can offer support by:
- Suggesting movement and position changes to help facilitate pelvic opening and baby’s descent
- Providing hands-on support with massage, hip squeezes, and other techniques designed to reduce labor pain
- Demonstrating comforting techniques for your support person so they can stay involved
- Reminding you of your goals for birth and helping you advocate for your wishes
- Giving verbal encouragement and comfort
- Taking photos and videos, if you want them
After your baby is born, I will stay for 1-2 hours to help get you settled with your new baby!
Postpartum support
Within a couple of days of your birth, I will visit your home to check in on how things are going, provide basic lactation support, and make referrals to any resources needed. We can also talk about how your birth went and I can answer any questions you may have.
Add-on for Medi-Cal clients
Medi-Cal clients can add two 3-hour postpartum visits free of charge. During these visits I focus on caring for you so you can care for your baby. I can:
- Run errands for you (grocery, pharmacy, etc.)
- Do basic housekeeping (dishes, tidying, folding laundry)
- Cook a nutritious meal for you
- Hold your baby so you can do self care (shower, go for a short walk alone, etc.)
- Care for any older siblings in the home
- Pet care (such as walking the dog)
- Do basic lactation support (suggestions for improving latch and comfort)
- Provide a listening ear and emotional support – postpartum can be a whirlwind of emotion.
Postpartum support

“Privacy, please” package
For those who want the information and preparation but would prefer to keep the birth space private – also free for Medi-Cal clients.

Prenatal prep + postpartum support
For those who are interested in having one-on-one prenatal support and postpartum visits (described above) but feel as though they want privacy when it comes to the vulnerable space of labor and birth, I completely understand.
As part of this package you can have a flexible number of prenatal meetings (up to 6), up to two 1-hour postpartum visits, and two 3-hour postpartum visits.
I will not be on call for you during your labor window, but I will still be available to answer questions via text and email as usual!
